| Life Maid Simple Shines up Storefront in Glenville! | ||
| Life Maid Simple celebrated the opening of its new retail space with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Chamber of Schenectady County on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Located at 434 Saratoga Road in Glenville, the storefront features "Maid for You" gift baskets, organizing equipment, on-site organization of paperwork and Holloway House Quick Shine products. Gift Certificates for home cleaning and organizing are also available for purchase. Owned by Nicole Wilson, the business has several facets. At its inception four years ago, Life Maid Simple focused on cleaning and organizing homes and offices. After establishing her business, Wilson was approached by Cleaning for a Reason, a company that offered free cleaning services for women suffering cancer. Being community-minded, Wilson jumped at the chance to donate her services. After gaining notoriety in the press for her efforts, Wilson was overwhelmed by requests for donated services. Simplifying Lives, For a Cause was established in May of 2009, a nonprofit Wilson formed in an effort to offer complimentary cleaning and organizing service to any cancer patient undergoing cancer treatment. To date they have completed 70 cleanings for 20 local families in need. "Life Maid Simple offers weekly, biweekly and monthly appointments for our customers and flexible schedules for our employees," explained Wilson. "We are fully insured, estimates are free, and we use only earth-friendly products. Most importantly, we are dedicated to helping the community." Wilson employs 14 full-timers and schedules appointments Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Night and weekend appointments accommodate commercial clients. We also have local partners that give discounted rates to our patients. We have lawn mowing, snow plowing, plumbing and heating & cooling specialists. We hope to be able to help cancer patients with all of their home needs so they can take care of what's most important; their recovery!
